Flooring Guide: Vinyl vs SPC vs Laminate — Which Is Right for You?

Vinyl flooring is fully waterproof and comes in realistic wood and stone finishes, making it a strong choice for bathrooms, kitchens and high-moisture areas.

SPC (stone-plastic composite) flooring takes waterproofing a step further with a rigid core that resists dents and temperature changes, making it ideal for commercial spaces and busy households.

Laminate flooring remains the most budget-friendly option with a genuine wood-look finish, though it is less moisture-tolerant than vinyl or SPC and is best suited to living rooms and bedrooms.

Installation matters as much as material choice — proper subfloor levelling and acclimatisation prevent the gapping and lifting that cause most flooring complaints.

Our flooring installation team can advise on the right product for each room based on foot traffic, moisture exposure and budget.
